Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 5

Day 5 is our last technique day.  The week sure went fast.  I had some prior commitments so I was not able to do the techniques until after the weekend.  Day 5 was all about Alcohol Inks and Yupo.  I thought I had seen almost everything alcohol inks could do but boy was I wrong.

Here are the new techniques I learned from Day 5:

Alcohol Ink Stamped Resist on Yupo

Alcohol Ink Texture Resist on Yupo

Alcohol Ink Faded Layers on Yupo

Alcohol Ink Painting on Yupo

Alcohol Ink Liquid Landscapes on Yupo

Alcohol Ink Splattered Florals on Yupo

Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 4

Day 4 was all about Distress Crayons.  This was the one I was waiting for and it was as informative and enjoyable as I had hoped.  Wait until you see these techniques.

Distress Crayon Smudge

Distress Crayon Gesso Fresco

Distress Crayon Textured Resist

Distress Crayon Watercolor Resist

Distress Crayon Blended Background

Distress Crayon Layered Coloring

Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 3

I had everything done for Day 3 but 2 of the tags took a little longer to dry so I couldn't post them the same day.  Without further delay, here are day 3 techniques

Distress Layered Collage

Texture Paste Coloring

Texture Paste Embossing

Distress Grit-Paste Grunge

Texture Paste Resist

After we created all the technique tags, Tim had us create some samples to show the effects of Collage Medium, Grit Paste and Texture Pastes.  This will be a handy way to determine what medium we want to use on future products.

Watch for my next post on Day 4.

Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 2

Today we went over Distress Paint and Resist Techniques.  A couple of these I had done before but it is always good to have a refresher.  I wish I had more time to spend on this so I could make great projects like some of the other attendees but somebody has to work.  Without further ado, here are the techniques for Day 2

Distress Paint Resist

Distress Paint Lifting

Distress Stain Rub Resist

Distress Luminous Mica (Wish you could see the shine in person)

Distress Marker Spritzed Watercolor

I love the fall colors in the Spritzed Watercolor and the design in the Distress Paint Resist.  The Distress Luminous Mica technique leaves a beautiful sheen to the project and the picture doesn't do it justice.

I love Tim Holtz and he is a great teacher as well as designer,

Until tomorrow.

Creative Chemistry 103 Day 1

I am participating in Creative Chemistry 103.  Some of  the techniques I have seen and some not.  Some of them are also easier for me than others as you will no doubt see.  My favorites from Day 1 are the Distress Ombre and Distress Offset Stamping.  Love the look of the Distress Highlight Stamping Technique when it is done properly!  I need to work on it.

Here  are  the techniques we learned in Day 1.

Distress DIY Ombre

Distress Highlight Stamping

Distress Off Set Stamping

Distress Washed Watercolor

Distress Micro-Glaze Resist

Can't wait to see what I get to play with for Day 2!

Challenge Sketch - Crafting Circle

I am participating in a card challenge at CraftingCircle which is a group of crafters where many of us were on the Cricut Message Board and found a new home after they closed it down.  This is going to be a doosey!  (sp????)

One of challenges we have to pick two members and challenge them to create a card using either a color we chose or a sketch we chose.  I hate the color Orange so I used that to challenge another crafter and here is the sketch I chose....
