Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 3

I had everything done for Day 3 but 2 of the tags took a little longer to dry so I couldn't post them the same day.  Without further delay, here are day 3 techniques

Distress Layered Collage

Texture Paste Coloring

Texture Paste Embossing

Distress Grit-Paste Grunge

Texture Paste Resist

After we created all the technique tags, Tim had us create some samples to show the effects of Collage Medium, Grit Paste and Texture Pastes.  This will be a handy way to determine what medium we want to use on future products.

Watch for my next post on Day 4.

Creative Chemistry 103 - Day 2

Today we went over Distress Paint and Resist Techniques.  A couple of these I had done before but it is always good to have a refresher.  I wish I had more time to spend on this so I could make great projects like some of the other attendees but somebody has to work.  Without further ado, here are the techniques for Day 2

Distress Paint Resist

Distress Paint Lifting

Distress Stain Rub Resist

Distress Luminous Mica (Wish you could see the shine in person)

Distress Marker Spritzed Watercolor

I love the fall colors in the Spritzed Watercolor and the design in the Distress Paint Resist.  The Distress Luminous Mica technique leaves a beautiful sheen to the project and the picture doesn't do it justice.

I love Tim Holtz and he is a great teacher as well as designer,

Until tomorrow.

Creative Chemistry 103 Day 1

I am participating in Creative Chemistry 103.  Some of  the techniques I have seen and some not.  Some of them are also easier for me than others as you will no doubt see.  My favorites from Day 1 are the Distress Ombre and Distress Offset Stamping.  Love the look of the Distress Highlight Stamping Technique when it is done properly!  I need to work on it.

Here  are  the techniques we learned in Day 1.

Distress DIY Ombre

Distress Highlight Stamping

Distress Off Set Stamping

Distress Washed Watercolor

Distress Micro-Glaze Resist

Can't wait to see what I get to play with for Day 2!

Challenge Sketch - Crafting Circle

I am participating in a card challenge at CraftingCircle which is a group of crafters where many of us were on the Cricut Message Board and found a new home after they closed it down.  This is going to be a doosey!  (sp????)

One of challenges we have to pick two members and challenge them to create a card using either a color we chose or a sketch we chose.  I hate the color Orange so I used that to challenge another crafter and here is the sketch I chose....

New Online Magazine

While browsing for tutorials, I ran across a post that provided a link to a new online Free scrapbooking magazine.  Always being up for Free ideas I clicked the link they provided.  I expected a 30-50 page magazine.  To my surprise over 200 pages!  Whoo Hoo! Then I figured it must be a quarterly magazine but no, it is monthly.

Scrapbook Generations is in Springfield MO and I have heard nothing but great things about them and their layout books.  Even though I have tried several times when I was in town, I have yet to make it to their store during business hours.  Maybe this is the year.

Check their magazine out for yourself.  I am sure you will be bookmarking it too!

New Swap gone wrong

Here is another swap I was in recently.  We were to create an "upcycled" item.  I will say this is one that I am not really proud of.  I worked hard on it but plastic is not my medium!

My partner has now received it but apparently in pieces.  Here is what is originally looked like when I mailed it.
